Back to QuickSearchProIntroduction
This document outlines our commitment to protecting your privacy and explains how we handle any information related to your use of the QuickSearchPro Chrome extension.
At QuickSearchPro, we take your privacy seriously. We've designed our extension with privacy in mind, minimizing data collection and ensuring transparency in our practices.
Data Collection
QuickSearchPro does not collect, store, or transmit any user data outside of your browser. This extension operates solely on your device. It sends only the text you select directly to your chosen search engine. No other data is collected, stored, or transmitted.
Local Storage
The extension stores the following information locally in your browser:
- Your search provider preferences
- Category and provider order settings
- Visibility and favorite settings
This data never leaves your browser and is only used to provide the functionality of the extension. It is stored using Chrome's built-in storage API and is only accessible by the QuickSearchPro extension.
Third-Party Services
When you use QuickSearchPro to search with a particular provider, your search query will be sent to that provider's website (e.g., Google, Bing, etc.). This is necessary for the search functionality to work.
Please note that:
- These third-party services have their own privacy policies and data collection practices
- We have no control over how these services handle your search data
- We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of the search providers you use
For example, when you search using Google through QuickSearchPro, your search query is sent to Google's servers according to their privacy policy.
Permissions
QuickSearchPro requires the following permissions to function:
- Context Menus: To add search options to your right-click menu when you select text
- Storage: To save your preferences locally in your browser
We request only the permissions necessary for the extension to work properly. These permissions do not grant us access to your personal data or browsing history.
Children's Privacy
QuickSearchPro is not directed at individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take necessary actions.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top.
You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
